The setting that fixes it

Inside Notifyer, go to AI Bots → edit your bot. Scroll to the setting called WhatsApp Business Mobile app. Choose a delay - we recommend 30 minutes.

That's the whole configuration.

From that moment on, the AI watches for human replies from the WhatsApp Business app. The instant you reply to a conversation, the AI pauses on that specific conversation for the next 30 minutes (or whatever delay you set). Other conversations continue to be handled by the bot. The one you jumped into is yours, full stop.

When the delay window expires and the customer messages again, the AI picks back up - unless you reply first, in which case the timer resets.

No double-replies. No two voices. No customer confusion. Clean handover.

When the AI knows it's out of its depth

The handover above is the manual takeover - you decide when to step in. But Notifyer also handles automatic escalation when the bot itself recognises it's outside its lane.

Keyword triggers - words or phrases that force the AI to step aside ("speak to a human", "complaint", "refund", "cancel", or anything you define for your business)
Instructions - natural-language rules for when the AI should hand over ("if the customer is asking about pricing for our enterprise plan, route to a human")
The handover message - what the AI says before stepping aside ("Got it - let me bring in someone from our team. They'll be with you shortly.")

The customer gets a clean signal that a human is coming. The AI stops. The human picks up the conversation from a known starting point.

Why this matters

AI bots on WhatsApp are at their best when they handle the long tail - the FAQ-shape questions, the booking confirmations, the order-status pings - at any hour, in any language, without needing a human. They're at their worst when they refuse to step aside for the conversations that need a real person.

The shape that actually works in production is AI answers first, human steps in when it matters - and the "when it matters" part is the bit most platforms get wrong.
